Otolaryngology at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells
The Otolaryngology (ENT) Department is centrally located at Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury, offering a small, friendly and dynamic working environment. The department boasts a comprehensive staffing structure including seven Substantive Consultants, one Associate Specialist, four Trust Grade doctors, two StRs, five F2 trainees, four StR trainees and intermittent CT1 Surgical trainees. Enhancing the clinical team are four ENT Specialist Nurse Practitioners who make significant contributions by running independent clinics and managing emergency patients.
Clinical Services and Training Opportunities The department delivers comprehensive ENT services encompassing otology, sinus surgery and rhinology, benign and malignant head and neck disease, and voice disorders. Paediatric surgery forms a substantial component of the service, with capabilities to treat patients from 12 months of age onwards. The training programme features excellent theatre exposure across most aspects of ENT practice, with the flexibility to adjust timetables to accommodate specific training requirements as necessary.
