At both ICUs, Consultant led ward rounds occur on the twice every day. There is protected teaching arranged in the department on a weekly basis. The tutorials are largely mapped to the FRCA syllabus and are a mix of Anaesthetics & ICM topics.

Regular Journal clubs and there are monthly Clinical Governance meetings for Trainees to attend.

With the announcement of the new Anaesthetic curriculum in August 2010, a curriculum mapping process was undertaken to ensure that trainees gained the most from their placement. There is a close liaison between both sites. Trainees receive their training in modular form and their training is mapped out for them into blocks on their arrival.
