The new Undergraduate Medical Building (UMB) at Tunbridge Wells Hospital comprises 144 en-suite rooms in flats of 5/6 and associated kitchen/lounge areas plus additional teaching facilities. The building was completed and partially occupied in April 2025 and officially opened in October 2025. The building has been built to take accommodate the increased numbers of medical students on placement at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust from the Kent & Medway Medical School (KMMS) alongside those from the GKT School of Medicine at Kings College London and City St Georges Medical School.
