The Respiratory Department offers a broad range of general Respiratory and GIM exposure. One Respiratory Consultant on each site at Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital is trained to Level 2 in Chest USS, so we are able to supervise our Specialty Trainees to obtain Level 1 accreditation and have a dedicated USS machine on each Respiratory ward.

Overview:

• Dedicated lung cancer clinics on each site
• Both sites have an excellent team of Respiratory Nurses and physiotherapists
• There is a very active audit programme and we participate in all the National BTS audits
• There are four Respiratory Consultants, with two Bronchoscropy lists a week, outpatients, including a service providing Omalizumab and regular Respiratory Clinics
• Dedicated Respiratory teaching sessions
• Regular courses in Chest USS, Interventional Bronchoscopy and Medical Thoracoscopy
• Both wards in each site deliver NIV and have Optiflow
