Human factors are the cause of many cases of accidental harm in hospitals. They affect the performance and behaviours of staff in ways that can impact patient safety. In clinical and healthcare environments, that can put lives at stake.
Representing the five key human factors meet SHEEP.
S - Systems
H - Human Interaction
E - Equipment
E - Environment
P - Personal
SHEEP will tell you all you need to know about prevention measures, initiatives and ways in which you can help minimise risk to our patients. The Trust have pledged to help all our staff work efficiently, effectively and safely.
The first step towards achieving this is awareness. Courses are run regularly to inform staff of ways we can reduce the risk of human factors leading to patient harm. We openly welcome suggestion for how you think we could reduce the impact of human factors, as we recognise that one small idea could make a huge difference to thousands of patients.
