Foundation programme overview

Available at both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells hospitals, our Foundation training programmes are cross-site placements that are available in most specialties. We provide more than fifty of each Year 1 and Year 2 programme with linked programmes also available, so that you can spend both years in the Trust.

Simulation

Simulation plays a key role in the Foundation programmes and across the Trust, with a dedicated simulation faculty running sessions for all Foundation trainees. The quality of these simulation facilities and the support services provided by our Programme Directors and admin team, are just some of the ways we support your success.

We have a comprehensive programme of taster weeks and encourage our trainees to spend time in a specialty they have a long term interest in. Choosing the right specialty is a critical decision that all junior doctors face

Have some fun too!

Outside work there is a vibrant social life including regular ‘pay day’ themed events organised by the Mess committees. The annual cricket match against the Consultants is a popular and competitive affair. Winter and Summer Balls are also a good opportunity to dress up and have a good time with a wide cross-section of staff coming together.
