TTF1

We have welcomed our new King’s College London Transition to F1 (TTF1) students this month and they had a clinical skills day as part of their induction. We have also delivered the first workshop on common clinical scenarios, where we used an online whiteboard called ‘mural’.

The students worked together in small groups and had to work through cases, write different differential diagnosis, investigations and management plans on the online whiteboard and then present it to the rest of the group.

Some feedback from the session: “Useful to manage evolving scenarios and a good opportunity to practice lots of different things relating to management of acute patients i.e. interpreting the investigations, presenting SBARs, etc”.

KMMS Multiple Mini Interviews

All of us fellows were involved with the Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) for students hoping to get into medical school. We all found it interesting being involved in the process and learnt a lot about medical school interviews!

Outreach

We have signed up to various different dates to go out into schools to give talks to the pupils. Kubra attended Walthamstow careers fair and gave a talk to the students there.

Upcoming events

We are excited for our Valentine’s Medical Escape room coming up. We are also trialling a new way of teaching clinical skills which we hope is shown to be beneficial to students.
